Today is the last day for Rollins, Victorino, Stairs and Ruiz. They join their respective teams in the World Baseball Classic tomorrow. J.C. Romero already has left to join Puerto Rico.

“I’m looking forward to my mama’s food,” Romero said yesterday. “She’s in Puerto Rico. It’ll be good to see my family and play in front of my Puerto Rican fans, which is very important. I’m going to have fun, and when I come back I’m going to be ready to go.”

Except, of course, won’t really be ready until June 1, when he can return from his 50-game suspension for violating the league’s policy against performance enhancing drugs.

“I’m going to go back to the pureness of the game, and that’s competing,” Romero said. “I’m going to leave the political stuff, all the rulings, I can put all that stuff to the side and play the game of baseball.”

Tony Dorsett threw out the first pitch. The Harlem Globetrotters offered a little entertainment before the fifth inning.

Myers allowed three hits and two runs in three innings. Park threw a perfect fourth inning. He’s the last of the four pitchers competing for the fifth starter’s job to pitch.

On a side note, Santana is being sent back to NY for “precautionary” tests…

Hey Todd, can we get the projected pitchers for today too? Phan, I heard on sportscenter that Santana is going to the NY hospital for special surgeries for the MRI LOL, sounds like something is up!

Just added them above. Sorry about that!

Looks like J.C. has the right mind set, putting it behind him. I suspect he will be in a mission when he returns, just to prove it’s his skills, not the supplements, that makes him a good pitcher. Did anyone else see the shot of Myers on TV yesterday, looks like a different guy, 10 years younger. Another man on a mission (don’t ya just love guys in a contract year?). Big year for Brett coming up, I”m betting he will have a monster season. The Mets have to be thinking, oh no, if Sanatana has a major issue. He goes down, they have a built in excuse for a tough year, as we would if it was Cole. I’d hate to see that happen, I want a straight up fight with the Mets, much more fun.

Rather have rain than the ton of snow predicted?! Agree Myers looked great. I think he’ll have a great year also. Such a pity about Santana….yet do love when the competition with the Mutts is full force.

Good news! The Inky reported that, “thanks to a happy coincidence in the schedule”, Pat will be able to get his Ring with the rest of the team! Even better news…..I’ll be there! :-)

Way cool Norma! I plan on DVRing the game since I’ll be at work during the ring ceremony. Enjoy!

Even though I’ll be there, I’ll be DVR’ing the game, too. I always do. Just to clarify anything I might have missed *live*. LOL! Hopefully, they’ll show some of the Ring Ceremony on TV. It’s suppossed to be, before the game.

Zo…..What’s up with Chase? Haven’t heard any updates, now that games have started. Is he hanging out in the dugout? Or busy re-habbing, during games?

The Mets have cancelled Santana’s trip to NY after a bullpen session, although the cancelled trip may be a result of the weather conditions up our way for the next couple of days. We’ll see.
I also read that Pat will be able to be in Philly for the ring ceremony. That’s very cool. Eaton has signed with the O’s. Should he check to see if they have the day off that day too?

phan….We want NO booing during the ring ceremony! This is supposed to be a happy occasion!
