Utley Leads Off

‘s spring training debut in a minor-league game yesterday obviously went well because he’s making his Grapefruit League debut today against the St. Louis Cardinals at Bright House Field.

It’s a packed house with Phillies and Cardinals fans, although I’m not sure which are which because both are wearing red. I’m guessing the Phillies fans are making them feel welcome, however.

Here’s today’s lineup:

1. Chase Utley, 2B
2. Jayson Werth, CF
3. Greg Dobbs, DH
4. Ryan Howard, 1B
5. Raul Ibanez, LF
6. Pedro Feliz, 3B
7. Geoff Jenkins, RF
8. Jason Donald, SS
9. Carlos Ruiz, C

Scheduled to pitch: Chan Ho Park.

Harry Kalas is back in the broadcast booth today.

I’m looking forward to seeing him play today. Heck, I’m happy to see anyone play today since I’ve only been able to listen to the games this past week.

Must be because Norma is in town🙂 LOL!

Cheer him on for those watching from afar.

Hey Todd! Thanks for keeping us all informed! I am SO relieved that Utley is going to start today. I know all about the type of hip surgery he had and it can be very risky, because of how many major blood vessels are in that area and location of the joints…etc.. I know because I got the run-down from my doc about a year ago who suggested I think about having it but I decided to pass because it sounded real scary…of course, I don’t have to play baseball everyday so I could decline; now I just hobble around :O) Anyway, when I heard what he was having done, well, basically, I have been holding my breathe since then. Whew! HUGE sigh of relief!

Park isn’t giving up easily. 4.2 innings, no runs and 6 K’s. He’s going to make it tough on the coaching staff.

It’s so unbelievably good to see Chase back in action! April 5th can’t come soon enough!

Karen….I was jumping up and down when I saw Chase’s name on the line-up card! My son was mortified. LOL! Of course he got a rousing welcome from the fans. I’m really glad I set my DVR to record the game. Since I just got in at midnite, I think I’ll wait til tomorrow to watch it. LOL!
