Phillies Are Shopping Paulino

Chris Coste probably can breathe a little easier because a couple sources have said the Phillies are shopping catcher Ronny Paulino.

Read the story here.

Paulino has options, so why not just send him to the Minors? Well, it’s probably because Lou Marson is going to be playing every day in Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Paulino has more value than a backup up Triple-A catcher, and they’re not going to send him to Double-A Reading, either. So they will try to find some value for him. I can’t imagine they would land anybody terribly impressive in return, but at the very least perhaps they could add depth in the Minor Leagues.

I didn’t know that Paulino had work ethic sssues. All things being equal, I’ll take Coste. I don’t think he’ll ever take anything for granted.

Would love to see Marson stay w/the Phils organization. It would be nice to know that the “next generation” players are just around the corner ala Utley, Howard, etc who came up through the Phils farm team.

Glad to know there are others who aren’t/can’t twitter or Facebooking (actually I have a Facebook page, but can’t access it @ work so I”m not on it much) and we can still chat w/others here at the good old fashion Zo Zone blog :-)

Can’t wait till April!!!

Apologies for the duplicate comment….computers a blessing and a curse!

With my level of understanding I would probably end up putting something on facebook that would end up as an internet phenomenon and I would have to go into permanent hiding, at my kids’ insistence. I leave that to them.
Twittering is something that I had never even heard of until a couple of NBA players recently got in trouble for doing it at halftime of a game.
I’ll stick with the blog. I like the timely information and the friendly banter.

Whew for Costie!

Karen……At least *friend* the few of us that are on Facebook! I’m easy to find on Todd’s friend list. Probably the only Norma. LOL!

SO relieved for Coste! I was not impressed with Paulino at all when I saw him earlier this month; he does have some power, but really doesn’t seem to know how to use it and his situational hitting was not great. Coste deserves the job; he is one of the hardest working guys in the majors. Good for him!

Todd, is Chris going to write a sequel to his biography?
