A Closer Look at the Rings

That trophy/ballpark engraving on the side looks slick. They should market that.
Now if only we can get some World F’n Champion caliber starting pitching, we’ll be all right. Come on Joe, I don’t want to be swept by the Braves at home!

The festivities did them in!! Thank God I can’t actually see this massacre going on. At least the bats are starting to wake up.

Yikes! What’s up with this team?

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIS TEAM NEVER GIVES UP!!!!!!!!! I hope they can close the deal. WoW!

I wish I could have been there to see the Phils pull that one off!!! They have managed to out do anything I thought they were capable of. Nothing is impossible for this team!! GO PHILS!!!!!!!!!

Todd, what was the scene like at the stadium? I have the feeling the fans were the 10th man in the 7th inning.

I think they were shining the rings in Peter Moylan’s eye and it didn’t allow him to throw strikes. Seriously, what a great win. Now the season really begins!

I got in my car to go home from work and they were losing 10-3. By the time I got home they had the lead. Amazing. I like that Ibanez was so juiced in the postgame. He wants one of those rings.

Was on my way home when Happ gave up another long ball–YIKES! They’re toast. Much to my surprise I turned the game on later and they were AHEAD 12-10 (although Lidge giving up the HR to Diaz was a nail bitter!)

Love the bling!!

Todd, who all got rings?

Wow – what a game! Glad I was there :O)
Hey Todd, question for ya…I noticed Mike Cervenak did not get a ring (or at least his name was not announced); what is the criteria for deciding this? He was called up in July, went back down, but called up again in August and stayed with the team the rest of the year; he played in at least 6 games I think. Also, he was not on the post-season roster, but did stay with the team and was in the parade. Soooo…I was curious. Thanks!

@Phan52: I had the pleasure of being at the game this afternoon. Here’s who was at least announced.

Pitchers: Cole Hamels, Brett Myers, Jamie Moyer, Joe Blanton, Kyle Kendrick, JA Happ, Kyle Kendrick, Adam Eaton, Scott Eyre, Clay Condrey, Chad Durbin, Ryan Madson, Tom Gordon, Rudy Seanez, JC Romero, and Brad Lidge.

Infielders: Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Pedro Feliz, “Pinch Hitter Deluxe” (aha) Greg Dobbs, Eric Bruntlett, Chris Coste, and Carlos Ruiz.

Outfielders: Pat Burrell, Shane Victorino, Jayson Werth, Matt Stairs, Geoff Jenkins, and So Taguchi.

The Coaches and some of the Front Office guys got their rings too.

I have no idea how the rings are chosen for distribution, aha. Just a couple of interesting little facts though. People seem to be upset that Mike Cervanek didn’t get a ring (today anyway), but he only appeared in 10 games, as a pinch hitter. What I found interesting that someone who was a lock to get a ring, like Matt Stairs, only played in 16 games, and someone who wasn’t even thought of, like TJ Bohn, actually played in 14….

Please help Todd! =)

I was there, too. What an amazing day! The Ring Ceremony was great! As each player was announced, they would show that players individual ring, up on Phanavision. I can’t begin to describe how they looked 1000x’s normal size!

And oh yeah, the game……The fans were definitely the 10th man in the 7th! After Chase got a hit, and Ryan a HBP, we knew something was going to happen. Never sat down for the rest of the inning! And it was a long one!
