Lidge really lost that game in the top of the 9th. Ruiz should have been the hero. This team is seriously flawed. Rollins has been bad all year, but Victorino, Utley, and Howard have disappeared recently. Each has had their AVG drop over .050 in the last two weeks. The Phils have become the team that helps other teams turn it around. We helped the Mets achieve a 7-game winning streak. After beating the Phils two out of three, the Braves beat the Mets two out of three, almost sweeping them. Now the Mannyless Dodgers limp into the Bank, lose their fourth out of five games since Manny’s suspension, and go out and take the last two games of the series. 8-12 at home doesn’t cut it in any sport! Charlie needs to call a meeting and light a fire under some players backsides!!

Man was that ugly. Jimmy, Shane and Chase had about 6 hits between them against the Dodgers. Chase really looks lost up there, what injury is he hiding now?

Any updates on Drew Carpenter?

Hard to believe, but Jimmy had the most hits of the 3 you mentioned, jimmy. I think Shane only had one. And Chase was 0-fer the entire series. Only had 3 hits in the home-stand. I’m a little concerend, too. I know! I know! Players slump. But there’s a reason for a slump. Slight injury? Mental? Whatever. All of these guys are just too good to fall off the radar for no good reason.

Trade Utley or Howard right now while they can get something for them!!- Gillick gutted the farm system and the Phils have nothing down there. Get some top prospects for them. The Dodgers got 2 runs because of their inability to play the field — a sac bunt w/ a runner on second and a pop up behind first to score runs!! It only tells us the opposing teams have no respect for Utley and Howard defensively. How do you only get four hits between them in that ballpark during an entire homestand??

Anybody who thinks the Phillies defense is the problem doesn’t know what they are talking about. Every team has flaws somewhere, but the Phillies defense is one of the best in MLB. Pitching (both starters and bullpen) and production from the top of the lineup has been their problem. I think they still have post ‘WFC’ syndrome and haven’t seriously gotten their act together yet. If Happ represents well this weekend they should seriously think about replaceing Moyer for now. I don’t know what to say about the bullpen. Lidge is horrible and probably cost them that game yesterday by giving up the insurance run.

Everyone agrees about J.Roll’s struggles. Shane has been hot and cold. Ryan…???? Chase has played really well, til this past home stand. Who knows what the heck is going on????
