Dobbs Clears Waivers, Heads to Lehigh Valley on Friday

Greg Dobbs has cleared waivers and has accepted his assignment to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, according to a source.

He will report Friday.

Dobbs is expected to play every day with Lehigh Valley, where the Phillies hope he rediscovers his swing so he can be called up and help off the bench like they helped in 2007-08.

The Zo Zone is on Facebook and Twitter. His Phillies book “The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly” is available online, and at Delaware Valley bookstores!

JRoll wins it in a walkoff and they lose another pitcher. What a season.

It is hard to quantify what exactly JRoll brings to the team. Both Valdez and Castro have done an excellent job taking JRoll’s place during his stay on the DL particularly with regards to glove work. But JRoll’s blast last night shows on film what he means. And it probably safe to say one film clip, just like a picture, is worth a thousand words.

phan: I was at the game last night. Another cringe over Durbin. Seemed like a routine play until he bent over. So much for the warm weather helping keep a guy loose.

pherris: I think it’s quantified with a Win. That’s a quantity. I wouldn’t have expected that out of Castro or Valdez.
If they can get Ruiz back, they’ll actually have their starting 8 on the field at the same time. That’s a major accomplishment.

Yes you can quantify last night as a win. Besides, I believe they indicated that it was the second walk off hit of JRoll’s career or maybe it was his third. So, I guess it is settled that in his time as a Philly we can attribute at least 2 wins, maybe 3 wins, to JRoll?
