Stutes, Worley and Others Sent to Minor League Camp
The Phillies made seven more cuts this morning at Bright House Field, leaving 37 players remaining in camp:
Optioned
- Vance Worley
- Freddy Galvis
Reassigned
- Brandon Moss
- Jeff Larish
- Juan Perez
- Dan Meyer
- Michael Stutes
No real surprises here. Stutes made a big showing this spring. He could be in the big leagues at some point this season, but the Phillies want to give him more seasoning in the Minor Leagues. Worley could be Triple-A Lehigh Valley’s opening day starter, so they wanted to get him stretched out.

so who is left in camp? Can we get a run down so we can figure out who is making the team. I’d like to hear your take on who makes the roster, and who will get set down once Utley, Brown and Polanco are able to play
FIJ, I guess we have to check the 40-man roster minus 7, minus 7., etc. There are so few roster spots available that it doesn’t matter much who’s left. The big question is going to be how many pitchers the Phils will have on the opening-day roster. I’m hoping they go with 11 because that will give Charlie 1 more bench player to work with. He may need that player because we won’t know who can really fill in for Chase until the real games begin.
