Halladay Battles, Wins

You realize once again just how good Roy Halladay is, watching him grind through the heat and humidity today in seven innings at Nationals Park.

Halladay allowed three home runs, but each one was a solo shot.

Halladay is around the strike zone a lot, so he will give up his share of hits. But because he is around the strike zone a lot, he rarely walks anybody, which means it is a rare moment when he gives up those crushing two, three or four-run homers. Those homers didn’t kill him today.

ESPN’s Buster Olney had an interesting look at the usage of National League bullpens. If you’re not an ESPN Insider, here’s the gist: the Phillies could have a fresh bullpen late in the season. The Phillies’ bullpen ranks 15th in the league in innings pitched. Another reason to appreciate the Phillies’ rotation.

Even though Halladay wasn’t at his absolute best, I created an animated gif meme-orializing the memorial day massacre of the nats (jk tongue planted firmly in cheek)

check it out: http://philly4aces.net/post/6007011975/funny-werth-vs-halladay-animated-gif#notes

Roy is a warrior!!!

No, Roy is a baseball player.

I thought we were going to stop with the “warrior” and the “battle” and “going to war” references after 9/11/2001. How soon we forget. It’s baseball.

Is it baseball or barnyard as in “stud”?

I went to that game and it was HOT. Our seats were in the sun and it was brutal – don’t know how they can stand playing on that field. But it was a blast – there were more Phillies fans than Nats fans at the game. Nationals Park should be renamed CBP South! :-D

Roy battled, but he needs to be more ‘ace’-like in games like that. Fortunately, the offense came through late again.

His last inning was one of his best. Still had 90+ on the ball and got out of jam by stricking out Mr. Werth :-)

Good to see the Phils’ bats are capable of bailing out an ace in trouble.

With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems off plagorism
or copyright violation? My website has a lott of unique content I’ve either created
myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission.
Do you kmow any ways to help stop content from being stolen?

I’d definitely appreckate it.
