THAT’S GREAT FOR CHOOCH!!!!
Bad for the Phillies, if the SI jinx is believable.
And the picture is from playing in St. Louis, they couldn’t get a picture from the Bank?
I don’t care where the picture was taken. That is awesome.
Most underrated player in MLB.
“Most underrated player in MLB?” You really need to see more teams.
Chooch, my favorite player on the talent laden Phillies! He is so clutch over & over! Truly an unsung hero!
And by the way superstitions and jinx’s only work on those who believe that they do, do you??? Don’t open that bag of chips upside down from the bottom up! Don’t whistle on the flying bridge of that fishing boat. Don’t step on the baseline. Make sure you’re wearing that same set of unwashed holie underwear that you’ve been wearing for every game for the last 2 years! Haaaa! Concentration and focus, preparation with a purpose and execution with belief!

At least with the perspective, he seems to be towering over St Louis’ Busch Stadium – like he is too much to contain in that town
My favorite part of the pic? Look where Jeter’s dinger winds up – in a tiny little corner of the cover.
Sports Illustrated has a history of doing regional covers. I’d guess that this is one. Jeter will wind up on the cover in areas where the Yankees are important – like almost everywhere besides Philadelphia.

Chooooooch!!!!!!!
Damn, Cliff lee kinda stunk up a National League shutout. Can’t you guy’s even carry your part of the load?
Great to see Chooch get the recognition he deserves.
Our pitchers were the only pitchers who pitched multiple innings last night. Didn’t seem fair.
I’m thrilled for Chooch! Well deserved. One of the best catchers in baseball.
Wow, BillyBob is really reaching here. It’s only July and you are already out of material? Clown.
Let’s just hope Chooch’s back can be healthy for the rest of the year. I don’t know how many more games I can watch with Dane Sardinhas catching.
Erich, when is the last time you saw Sardinha catch? Schneider’s been off the DL for weeks.
Which is why we’ve been spared the pain of watching Sardinha catch. If Chooch goes on the DL again, we’ll have to endure more lousy catching from him.
I got the Jeter cover, and I live in Delaware! What is up with that? Sad :O( Really great article though.

Told ya.
Phillies all the way. Who really cares about all these side issues. The Phillies have what it takes right now. The only thing to worry about is Junior making one of his Jamie Moyer or Joe Blanton type signings or trades now. Or, Charlie’s lack of faith in Worley, Kendrick, Shutzs or Bastardo. Let’s go with what we have and let the chips fall where they may, Let’s make Charlie manage rather than dozing in the dugout.
Looks like Lee is pitching on Sunday.
