Game 1 Starter Is Halladay. Duh!

Charlie Manuel isn’t ready to officially announce his Game 1 starter in the National League Division Series, but why should he?

It’s obvious, isn’t it?

It’s going to be Roy Halladay on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park with Cliff Lee pitching in Game 2 Sunday.

“I think if you’re good baseball people you should be able to see how we’re setting it up,” Manuel said. “I shouldn’t have to answer that.”

It is no surprise. Halladay is 19-6 with a 2.35 ERA this season. Lee is 17-8 with a 2.40 ERA. Cole Hamels (14-9, 2.75 ERA) is a good bet to start Game 3 with Roy Oswalt (8-10, 3.86 ERA) likely to start Game 4.

Anybody who questioned this would be a stone cold fool.

Well there was some talk of ‘splitting up the lefties’ (Lee and Hamels) so that would maybe mean Lee first…..But i see no value in that whatsoever…..Roy H is the man!!!

They wouldn’t push Hamels to 4, would they? Oh my.

They could. Oswalt tonight; Blanton and Hamels on Wednesday. Sounds like they’re setting them up.

Game three isn’t until next Tuesday. Hamels will pitch that game. Still, Oswalt is the best #4 pitcher in MLB.
Let’s get this party started.

When will they announce times for this weekend’s games?
TBS has two slots on Sunday: 6 & 9:30. If Phils play at 6 there will be massive traffic with Eagles exiting. At 9:30 I am in danger of nodding off. TV is ruining the game.

Not fair, Wilson Valdez has the best pitching stats on the team.

I still think it should be Halladay, Hamels, Lee, Oswalt. Halladay first, obviously. And I like Hamels at home in October. Lee is lights out in October regardless, so starting him in game 3 on the road I don’t think is that bad of an idea. But really, any way we go here is a good option.

I don’t understand why they don’t want to split the lefties
