Howard Is Here, Nine Others Are Gone

Ryan Howard is in the Phillies clubhouse this morning. He’s still wearing his walking boot, which he required after a surgical procedure near his left Achilles Feb. 27. Howard has appeared in the clubhouse at least a couple times since the surgery, but today appears to be the first day he is going to stick around for a while.

So, hopefully, we’ll hear from him later.

Phillies Agree to Terms with Bush

The Phillies have agreed to terms on a Minor League contract with right-hander Dave Bush, according to a source.

The deal is pending a physical.

If Bush passes his physical he will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Bush, who went to Conestoga High School, went 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in 17 appearances before the Texas Rangers designated him for assignment and released him in July. He went 1-2 with a 6.14 ERA in five starts with Triple-A Iowa before he opted out of his contract with the Cubs on Thursday to become a free agent.

Dave Bush Trivia: He not only is a local guy, he got the only win against the Phillies in the 2008 NLDS.
